Review: Chaos Invocation – Reaping Season, Bloodshed Beyond

Chaos Invocation is one of those bands that never fails to amuse me. I remember discovering the band back in 2011 from YouTube suggestion while I was checking their Polish counterpart Oremus. It was a song from the album In bloodline With Snake. The album’s sound was heavily influenced by Watain’s Casus Luciferi, but I was more attracted towards their concept behind the album and the dark, evil atmosphere which made the album very appealing. As I checked their second album Black Mirror Hours, I became a die-hard fan and yes, it’s logical.  Since the mid to late 2000’s, many black metal Continue reading Review: Chaos Invocation – Reaping Season, Bloodshed Beyond

EXCLUISVE PREMIERE: “Piercing the Cervix of Nehemah” – TRACK FROM THE DEBUT EP OF SERPENT SPELLS

‘Metal’ has never thrived in Bangladesh for many reasons, mostly due to geography, culture and popular beliefs. Metal has therefore always been a very ‘underground’ phenomena, in terms of quality bands, promoters, labels and all other aspects. Only a handful of bands have shone from here. Heavy metal is mostly restricted to capital and few other large cities. The fact is, out of other styles of metal, ‘black metal’ has always suffered from numbers and yes, there were only a few classy black metal acts that had emerged from this land.

Review: Aosoth / Order of Orias Split

Aosoth.OrderOfOrias

In order for a split to work and be cohesive, the bands that are featured on said split need to be cut from the same cloth. It only makes sense for bands with like interests be featured on splits. With that being said, the two bands featured here are both raw and intense black metal and have a very Continue reading Review: Aosoth / Order of Orias Split

Review + Streaming: Mephorash – 1557 – Rites of Nullification

1557 - Rites of Nullification

It was really charming for me to see Mephorash getting back with their third offering. I do have an obsession for bands playing black metal in the same vein of late 2000-era Watain/Deathspell Omega. So Mephorash (hailing from Uppsala, Sweden) is my kind of thing. Although I was a bit disappointed with their previous effort ‘Chalice of Thagirion‘, but the brilliant Continue reading Review + Streaming: Mephorash – 1557 – Rites of Nullification
